Odisha Govt Plans Fully-Restored School Syllabus For 2022-23
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is considering fully restoring the school syllabus, curtailed because of COVID-19, from the 2022-23 academic session.
School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said the new academic session is likely to commence on time this year with a fully restored school syllabus from Class I to XII, TNIE reported.
The school syllabus was curtailed by 30 per cent during 2020-21 and 2021-22 in view of the pandemic.
Though no official announcement has been made yet on the date of commencement of the 2022-23 academic session, the School and Mass Education department has moved a proposal to curtail the summer vacation so that classes can start early in May.
The minister said exams for the 2021-22 academic session will only be held for secondary and higher secondary students, while students of Class I to VIII will be promoted to the next class.
The summative assessment-II (final exam) has already started for Class IX students from April 13 and will commence for Class X students from May 3.
The Plus II exam for Class XII students will be conducted by the CHSE from April 28.
