Bhubaneswar: For the second time this year, the Odisha government has reduced bus fare for all categories under automatic fare adjustment mechanism following a fall in the price of diesel in the international market.
According to a notification issued by the Commerce and Transport department on Wednesday, the fare of the ordinary and express buses has been reduced by 2 paise per km while that of deluxe and AC deluxe buses by four paise per km.
As informed by the State Transport Commissioner, the fare for ordinary bus will be 68 paise per km against 70 paise and 71 paise against 73 paise per km for the express category.
Besides, deluxe category buses will now charge 97 paise per km as against Rs 1.01 per km while passengers travelling in AC deluxe buses will pay Rs 1.19 per km as against Rs 1.23 per km earlier.
The state government had reduced the bus fare earlier on November 28.
