Bhubaneswar: In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Odisha government will finalise the reduction of school syllabi this week, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash informed on Sunday.
Dash said the expert committee on reducing the syllabi has submitted its report, which was now being reviewed by the principal secretary of the department.
However, taking note of the confusion among students after the syllabi reduction by the CBSE, no final decision has been taken on the volume of syllabi reduction for the primary, upper primary and high schools, he said.
The minister maintained that his department will determine the volume of the syllabi on the basis of the date of reopening of schools. “As no decision has been taken for the reopening of schools in September due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation, there is a delay in finalizing the syllabi,” he added.
However, efforts are on to take a final decision by the end of this week to clear the doubts of the students, he said.
