Applications are invited for 314 assistant professor posts (broad specialty) across 24 disciplines in Group-A of the Odisha Medical Education Service cadre, to be appointed in government medical colleges and hospitals under the Health and Family Welfare Department. Of these, 107 posts are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 65 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 26 for Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC), and 116 for the unreserved category.
The hiring process is being initiated for the ongoing expansion of medical education and the opening of new medical colleges. The positions are currently temporary but may become permanent, according to an official notification.
Online registration and application submission will be open from May 26 to June 26. Selection will involve a written test on August 17 in Cuttack, consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) worth 200 marks, evaluated via OMR, with a duration of three hours. Preference will be given to Odisha natives or residents when candidates score equally, prioritising the local candidate over non-residents. If eligible women candidates are unavailable in a category, vacant posts will be filled by suitable male candidates from the same category, the the OPSC advertisement added.
