Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will launch a new health scheme “Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana” on August 15.
This was announced by chief minister Naveen Patnaik here on Tuesday.
“One of our major commitments is universal health coverage. Today in this regard, I am happy to announce that each and everyone visiting any government health institution from district to sub-centre level will be providedhealth services free of cost,” he said.
Under the new scheme, secondary and tertiary cashless healthcare assistance will be provided up to Rs 5 lakh per family per annum will have the health benefits of Rs 5 lakh per annum.
About 3.5 crore people of the state covering more than 70 lakh families will be benefited by this new health scheme.
Besides, drop back assistance of Rs 500 will be provided to all pregnant women and infants who visit public health facilities.
