Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has launched a website for claims related to Ponzi frauds.
Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari unveiled the website www. opid.odisha.gov.in on Friday in the presence of finance secretary Ashok Meena and other officials. The refund will be made under Odisha protection of interest of depositors under the financial establishment Act 2011. It is a part of the government’s 5T initiative.
According to official sources, the depositors are required to register through the website and they will get a refund after proper verification.
With this, the duped investors will no longer have to visit local tehsil offices to submit their application for the purpose. The online facility would also help applicants during the COVID-induced lockdown.
A senior officer in the finance department said those who face difficulties in filing their details online can seek help from nearby Mo Seva Kendras.
In the first phase, depositors of Hi-tech Estates and Promoters Pvt Ltd and Rajdhani Systems and Estates Pvt Ltd have been asked to submit their claims online.
