Bhubanewar: The state government on Wednesday issued a detailed set of guidelines to be followed by the people during social activities like marriage and funeral functions in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
In a letter to the collectors, SPs, civic bodies and Commissionerate Of Police, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena directed for strict implementation of the guidelines and legal action in case of violation.
For the marriage and related functions, the SRC said procession is strictly prohibited. Besides, these functions must not be attended by more than 50 people and the hosts and the owner of the venue must take prior permission of the local police station.
People with symptoms of influenza and respiratory problem, above 65 years of age, and children below 10 years will not be allowed to enter the venue.
All persons must wear face masks and maintain a distance of two metre from each other during the entire function. Chewing of gutka and paan and spitting in public is strictly prohibited. The host will ensure arrangement for hand washing with soap and water and also ensure availability of hand sanitizers.
The host and the owner or manager of the marriage venue will be held responsible for ensuring the guidelines and liable for legal action in case of any violation, the guidelines stated.
In case of funeral function, the above restrictions will be followed with some exceptions. Not more than 20 people are allowed to attend the function.
The vehicles to be used for the cremation should not carry more than the seating capacity, the SRC said in his direction.
