Bhubaneswar: Stepping up its attack on the BJD government over Archana Nag’s honeytrap racket, Odisha BJP launched a dharna in Bhubaneswar demanding an impartial investigation to unearth alleged involvement of high-profile people.
Several senior leaders along with a large number of BJP workers participated in the sit-in being held for an ‘indefinite’ period outside the office of the Commissionerate Police in the capital city to press the demand.
Besides seeking a thorough probe in the lady blackmailer’s case, the saffron party also sought interrogation of School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Dash in connection with BJD Zila Parishad member Dharmendra Sahoo’s death.
They also threatened to intensify their stir and gherao Naveen Niwas, residence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, if police fails to conduct proper investigation against ‘tainted’ ministers in both cases in two days.
BJP state General Secretary Prithiviraj Harichandan alleged that investigation in both the cases failed to progress due to nexus between police and ruling BJD leaders. Dharmendra Sahoo’s death was a case of murder, but police have failed to ascertain the role of the Minister in the episode, he claimed and added that BJP wants the police to conduct probe in an impartial and unbiased manner.
He said Minister Dash should be brought under the purview of investigation and interrogated in Dharmendra Sahoo’s death case.
Similarly, police should also unravel the mystery behind the woman blackmailer and bring the names of high-profile people including Ministers and MLAs to the fore in Archana Nag case, the BJP leader said.
