New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Odisha-cadre IAS officer Vir Vikram Yadav has been appointed Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) under the Ministry of Civil Aviation in a reshuffle of senior bureaucrats by the central government on Tuesday.
The 1996-batch officer was serving as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change. Yadav will replace Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, who has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
The notification further stated that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Vishal Gagan, also from Odisha cadre, as Secretary, Central Information Commission, Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Sanjay Jaju will replace him as Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.
Chandra Sekhar Kumar, an 1992 officer of Odisha cadre serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, has been appointed as Chief Executive Office, National Rainfed Area Authority.
Similarly, Odia IRS officer Ansuman Pattanaik, serving as Director General, Competition Commission of India, has been appointed Additional Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Hari Har Mishra, an IDAS officer of the 1998 batch, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance.
Other several key appointments across departments also include Bihar-cadre officer Chanchal Kumar, who has been named the new Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
