BJP Mahila Morcha members stage demonstration in front of Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar demanding resignation of Minister Dibyashankar Mishra
Bhubaneswar/Balangir: The BJP has called 12-hour Balangir bandh on Thursday demanding resignation of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra for his alleged involvement in the missing lady school Mamita Meher case.
On Wednesday, BJP Mahila Morcha members led by MP Sangeeta Singh Deo staged a protest outside Balangir SP office. They also engaged in a scuffle with police when they were stopped from barging into the police station.
They are demanding expulsion and arrest of Minister Dibyashankar Mishra for his alleged involvement in the case.
Meanwhile, violent protests marked Kalahandi bandh today with the BJP leaders and workers bringing all educational and business to a halt besides blocking roads. They activities also hurled eggs at the Minister’s house there.
In another development, a delegation of the BJP led by party state president Samir Mohanty met Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal urging action as per constitutional norms. They also sought dismissal of the minister for an impartial probe into Mamita Meher case.
On the other hand, Odisha Pradesh Congress has also sought the Governor’s intervention and removal of the Minister for a fair probe into the school teacher’s case.

It may be mentioned that lady teacher Mamita Meher of Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi district was kidnapped and murdered. The teacher’s body was found from the school stadium on Tuesday.
Police have also nabbed the prime accused Gobinda Sahu from is sister’s house at Bangomunda of Balangir district.
