Odisha LoP Jayanarayan Mishra Alleges BJD Plot To ‘Kill’ Him

Bhubaneswar: Amid a raging controversy over his alleged scuffle with a woman police officer, BJP stalwart and Odisha’s Leader of Opposition Jayanarayan Mishra on Thursday alleged that there was a conspiracy to ‘eliminate’ him.

Mounting a scathing attack on the ruling BJD, Mishra accused it of getting furious and engineering attacks on him after he raked up issues relating to the murder of Health Minister Naba Kishore Das by a policeman

Making a serious charge against the rulilng party, the senior BJP leader alleged that BJD goons visited the circuit house in Sambalpur with a plan to kill him after coming to know that he was staying there.

The goons, who visited the circuit house when he was away, ransacked the property, he claimed, adding that he esaped as he was not present at that time. “I suspect that they had come with ain intention to eliminate me. There is a conspiracy to kill me as I have been raising several burning issues,” he said.

Voicing concern over the safery of Mishra, Odisha BJP in-charge D Purandeswari alleged that false case has been slapped against the LoP. She also demanded special security for Mishra.

Alleging that Mishra was shoved and punched by a woman police officer at Sambalpur on Wednesday, she said even the leader of opposition is not safe in Odisha as the state is facing deteriorating law and order situation.

Senior BJP leader Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra also alleged that the alleged scuffle between Mishra and the woman police officer at Sambalpur on Wednesday was pre-planned by the ruling BJD. As Mishra is critical of the state government over NabaDas murder, the ruling party is trying to silence him, he alleged.
