Nabarangpur; In a gruesome incident, a man allegedly killed his wife, dumped her body inside a wooden box of the bed and ran away from the house at a village in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district.
The ghastly incident reportedly took place at Haladi village under the jurisdiction of Chandahandi police station in the district. The deceased woman has been identified as Anita Sori, while the accused husband is Dushmant Nayak.
The matter came to light after the woman’s family failed to contact her. They became suspicious over her sudden disappearance and filed a written complaint at the Chandahandi police station.
Following the complaint, a police team visited the site and broke open the locked house. After entering the house, they found Anita’s body hidden in a box beneath the cot in a room. A scientific team was also summoned to the crime scene as part of the investigation.
While the motive behind the murder remains unclear, the police have launched a manhunt to trace Dushmant Nayak, who is currently on the run.
The woman’s family demanded speedy justice and strict action against the accused.
