Odisha Minister For Qualitative Improvement In School Education
Bhubaneswar: Maintaining that the education sector is witnessing a revolution in Odisha, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Monday asked officials to take concrete steps to bring about a qualitative improvement in teaching.
Because of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s vision and farsighted approach, the education sector in the state has undergone a revolutionary change, the Minister said inaugurating a two-day conference of Principals of Government Higher Secondary Schools and Additional District Education Officers (ADEO).
Emphasising the need for further improvement in the quality of education, Dash asked the Principals, ADEOs and other officials to gear up and take concrete measures to ensure a qualitative change in the education sector.
The Minister also advised the officials to make the department more active in order to transform the education sector taking into account changing scenario.
He also felicitated the students, who have excelled in the examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational education streams in 2022 and wished them a bright future. The students narrated their success story and spoke about future plans.
Commissioner-cum-Secretary of School and Mass Education Department, Aswathy S asked the school Principals and ADEOs to chalk out plans for improving quality of education and to set targets for the coming year.
CHSE Director Raghuram Iyer gave a detailed account of the performance of different schools in various streams in the examinations this year.
Discussions were held on a host of issues like separating higher secondary schools from colleges or universities, appointment of guest teachers, effective inspection and monitoring and development of vocational education.
