Odisha Minister Urges Centre For Adequate Supply Of Fertilisers

Bhubaneswar: Acute shortage of fertilisers during kharif season has hit the farmers of Odisha hard.

In a letter to Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda, Agriculture Minister Arun Sahoo cited the hardships faced by farmers and urged for supply of adequate quantity of fertilisers to the state.

Sahoo said the allocation for April-2021 has been as per requirement but there is short in supply of different fertilisers for May and June.

During last kharif, Odisha has experienced scarcity of urea due to short supply of 45,000 MT to the state  and as a result, there was law and order situation in most of the districts of the state, he added.
