Bhubaneswar: The Indian Railways will run a MEMU train from Paradip in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district to Haridaspur in Jajpur from March 5.
This was revealed by East Coast Railway’s divisional railway manager (DRM), Khurda Road HS Bajwa after inspecting the Paradip-Haridaspur section of the railway track on Sunday.
He said the MEMU train will be introduced considering the demand of the railway passengers on the route. A team of Commission of Railway Safety conducted the safety inspection. The trail run of a passenger train will be carried out for two days, he added.
The train will leave Paradip station to go to Keonjhar through Kendrapada. The schedule of the train will be announced after safety security commissioner’s report, Bajwa said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag off the MEMU train at Chandikhol station on the day. He will inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 19,600 crore on the occasion as per the schedule of his visit to Odisha.
