Odisha Police Officer With Love For Luxurious Vehicles & Fancy Registration Number Lands In Jail
Bhubaneswar: Additional SP (communication) Trinath Mishra was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
He was produced in the Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Cuttack, which sent him to judicial custody till February 28. The hearing on his bail plea will be held on February 21.
It was the love for luxurious vehicles, including a luxurious crossover sports utility vehicle worth Rs 1.11 crore, with fancy registration plates ending with ‘0005’ that set him and his family apart from the other state government officials caught recently,

All the vehicles were found in the officer’s apartment in Manorama Estate at Rasulgarh here.
Besides a 3-bedroom flat and 3 plots in Bhubaneswar, a farmhouse in Jajpur and other assets worth over Rs 8.5 crore, which is 489 per cent of his known sources of income, were unearthed by vigilance sleuths during simultaneous raids at 11 places on Tuesday.
Besides, Rs 3.5 lakh has been seized from the Addl. SP.
Briefing the media, Director Vigilance Y.K. Jethwa said, “31 cases have been registered under the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018, in 2022 so far. Among them, 23 are government employees and four Class 1 officers.”
