Bhubaneswar: In view of increased passenger demand during the summer season, East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to temporarily augment 32 trains (16 pairs) with additional coaches during June 2025.
This move aims to ensure better service and a comfortable journey experience for passengers travelling across major routes from ECoR’s jurisdiction, ECoR said in a statement on Tuesday.
Key Highlights of Train Augmentation:
• 12074/12073 Bhubaneswar–Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express
➤ Augmented with one Chair Car coach from both directions from June 1 to 30
• 22823/22824 & 22811/22812 Bhubaneswar–New Delhi Rajdhani Express
➤ Each service to be augmented with one AC 2-Tier coach.
➤ From Bhubaneswar: June 1/2 to June 29/30
➤ From New Delhi: June 2/3 to June 3/ July 1
• 20817/20818 Bhubaneswar–New Delhi Rajdhani (via Sambalpur City)

These augmentations are temporary and are being implemented only for June 2025 to accommodate the increased demand during summer vacations. The move will provide additional berths across various categories including AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and Chair Car, covering key destinations such as New Delhi, Howrah, Yesvantpur, Patna, Tirupati, Bengaluru, and Kirandul.
