Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been ranked among top six states in the country by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as far as the COVID-19 positivity rate is concerned.
The state has bagged sixth position in the list of best performing states in terms of COVID-19 positivity rate, according to a release of the ministry. The positivity rate is the percentage of people, who test positive for the virus, of those overall who have been tested.
With tests crossing 50,000-mark per day, the lesser number of people are testing COVID-19 positive in the state, which is the hallmark of a good performing state, the release stated.
“At 6 positivity rate, Odisha is performing much better as the national average stands at 8.69. Odisha is performing much better than large states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Bihar, Assam and Gujarat,” the ministry said.
The sustained and robust COVID management efforts by the state Government is
resulting in such good performance in the fight against COVID-19, the release added.
