Odisha Readies Two More COVID Hospitals
Bhubaneswar: With inauguration of two more COVID hospitals on Friday, Odisha has readied 10 such facility to treat those detected with the infection.
While a 200-bedded COVID hospital at Sitapalli in Ganjam district was inaugurated by Chef Minister Naveen Patnaik through video conference, the Jajpur administration dedicated a 150-bed facility at the transformed Duburi Tata-Steel-MEDICA-Hospital with 15 ICUs, 20 doctors and 30 health workers.
The hospital in Ganjam has 15 ICU beds with ventilators and five more ICU beds will be added to it in the next 10 days. The hospital also has separate isolation and general COVID wards. The facility is funded by TATA Steel and managed by Tata Steel Medica.
Doctors, staff nurse, technicians from MKCG College and Hospital will attend to the patients here. “Accommodation for all doctors and support staff has been arranged within the campus. TATA-Medica staff will ensure smooth functioning of the hospital,” said Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik lauded the Ganjam district administration for making the hospital functional in record time.
