Odisha Registers 0.61% Growth In Revenue Collection By Dec-End In FY 2022-23
Bhubaneswar: Total revenue collection by December-end in financial year 2022-23 in Odisha has grown by around 0.61% over corresponding period in the last fiscal.
This was revealed during all-secretaries meeting held at Lokseba Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. The revenue generation from own tax sources increased by 15.31% with a total collection of around Rs 40,876 crore by the end of February, 2023 against Rs 35,449 crore collected in corresponding period of the last year. Similarly, the revenue generation from non-tax sources grew negatively by around 0.69% during the period with a collection of around Rs 78,916 crore.
In real terms, the total revenue has touched Rs 1,29,037 crore by end of this February. In spite of negative growth in own non-tax revenue and grants from the Central government by about 9.5%, total revenue has been increased by 0.61%.
Keeping in tune with the revenue generation, the budget utilisation by end of February grew by around 1.3% over the last fiscal. The budget utilisation in agriculture and its allied sector and infrastructure sector spending has been increased.
Reviewing fiscal performances of various departments at the meeting, chief secretary Pradeep Jena directed all departments to devise a strategy for more budgetary utilisation. He also emphasised on strengthening of complete digitalisation of all government payment and receipt system. The submission of utilisation certificates in time bound manner should be given priority, he directed.
Principal Secretary, Finance Vishal Kumar Dev outlined the financial updates of the state for discussion.
Development Commissioner Anu Garg, additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, secretaries and special secretaries of all departments participated in discussion.
