Odisha Registers Record GST Collection Of Over Rs 5,035 Crore In April

Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered gross GST collection of Rs 5035.74 crore in April which is highest of all time.

The state also recorded 40.43% growth in the collection to be retained by it consisting of OGST and IGST. The collection to be retained was Rs 2359.17 crore in April, 2023 against Rs 1680.00 crore in April 2022, according to an official release.

Buoyancy in the services sector as well as trading sector has led to the record growth in GST collection in the month. The total collection from goods, which are not subsumed under GST i.e. petroleum products and liquor for human consumption, stands at Rs 264.42 crore in April, 2023 against Rs 232.92 crore in the same month last year with a growth rate of 13.52%.

The collection under all Acts monitored by the Commissionerate of CT & GST, Odisha including GST/ VAT/ Entry Tax /Profession Tax stands at Rs 2661.92 crore against the previous Rs 1947.21 crore with a growth rate of 36.70%.

Around 20.23 lakh waybills were generated in April this year against 17.57 lakh in the same month last year.
