Odisha Reports 242 More COVID Cases, 19% Infectees Children
Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha remained above 200 for the fourth consecutive day on Friday as 242 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
These cases have been reported from 19 districts and 45 among them are in the 0-18 years age group.
While 229 new infections were detected on Thursday, the state had reported 226 infections on Wednesday, 206 on Tuesday, and 185 on Monday.
According to the I & PR department, 141 of the new cases are from quarantine and 101 local contacts. Khurda saw the highest 120 fresh infections, followed by Mayurbhanj (24) and Cuttack (18). No new infections have been reported from 11 districts.

Besides, 28 from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 56,515 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.42 per cent. The TPR was 0.39 per cent on Thursday, 0.37 per cent on Wednesday, 0.41 per cent on Tuesday and 0.32 per cent on Monday.
While the COVD-19 tally in the state reached 1046559, Odisha now has 2,504 active cases.
