Odisha Reports 602 New COVID Cases, 16% Infectees Children
Bhubaneswar: After three days, the daily caseload in Odisha crossed 600 on Thursday as 602 more people, including 96 in the age group of 0-18 years, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 565 on Wednesday, 545 on Tuesday and 585 on Monday.
With these fresh cases being detected from 68,254 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) dropped to 0.88 per cent from 0.96 per cent the previous day. The TPR was 1.03 per cent on Tuesday.
According to the I & PR department, 353 are from quarantine and 249 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest 283 cases followed by Cuttack at 54. These two districts accounted for 50.33 per cent of the fresh infections. Six districts reported nil cases.

Besides, 67 are from the state pool.
While the affected tally has touched 1026476, Odisha now has 5,642 active cases.
