Odisha Reports 69 More COVID Deaths; Toddler From Bhubaneswar Youngest Victim
Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 7,662 on Tuesday with 69 more deaths being confirmed in the past 24 hours.
The list of daily fatalities includes past deaths for which an audit was done and the cause identified as COVID, the Health Department said.
Odisha has so far seen 1,660 deaths due to the disease this month.
While 660 deaths were reported in May, the number swelled to 1,272 in June and it rose further to 1,884 in July.
Among the COVID deaths confirmed in the last 24 hours is a 1-year-old boy of Bhubaneswar and an 18-year-old girl of Puri. With this, the number of children and adolescents who lost their lives to COVID during the second wave in the state has gone up to 32.
The deaths of an 11-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl of Balasore, a 16-year-old girl from Angul, a 16-year-old girl from Cuttack, a 13-year-old boy, a month-old baby girl and a nine-year-old boy due to the deadly disease were reported on Tuesday, Monday, Sunday, Saturday, Friday, Thursday and Tuesday respectively.

Among the fresh fatalities, the highest of 25 are from Cuttack, followed by Boy19 from Jagatsinghpur and 9 from Dhenkanal.
