Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload remained above 200 for the third consecutive day on Thursday as 229 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
These cases have been reported from 19 districts and 29 among them are in the 0-18 years age group.
While 226 new infections were detected on Wednesday, the state had reported 206 infections on Tuesday, and 185 on Monday.
According to the I & PR department, 133 of the new cases are from quarantine and 96 local contacts. Khurda saw the highest 113 fresh infections, followed by Cuttack (18) and Sambalpur (13). No new infections have been reported from 11 districts.

With these cases being detected from 57,649 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.39 per cent. The TPR was 0.37 per cent on Wednesday, 0.41 per cent on Tuesday and 0.32 per cent on Monday.
While the COVD-19 tally in the state reached 1046317, Odisha now has 2,616 active cases.
