Post COVID, Odisha Schools Ready To Welcome Back Students: Minister Samir Dash

Bhubaneswar: With the schools across Odisha set to reopen tomorrow for Class X and XII students after remaining closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Thursday visited the schools in the capital city to oversee the arrangements.

After a visit to some of the schools the Minister said all arrangements have been made as per the COVID-19 guidelines. The classrooms have been well sanitised and are ready, he added.

Informing about other measures taken by the school authorities he said the children will be given hand sanitiser while entering the school and a five feet distance has been maintained between desks in the classroom.

There are over 10,000 schools in the state of which 8,000 are government schools and the rest are non-government ones. Nearly 6 lakh students are reading in these schools.
