Bhubaneswar: Expediting the process of setting up an IT park at Damana Square , the Odisha government has initiated steps to select a developer for the project.
The Odisha Computer Application Centre, under the E&IT department, has floated an Expression of Interest for the purpose. The proposed project will come up on 25 acres of land currently under the General Administration department, officials said.
According to officials, the EoI is intended to assess the interest and expectations of parties interested in the project. The plan is to develop an iconic “Walk-to-Work” IT park over 25 acres, combining office space for the IT sector with commercial, residential and recreational components, as reported by The New Indian Express.
The project is expected to provide around 45 lakh sq ft of built-up space, with about 70 per cent earmarked for IT and ITeS activities. The remaining area will be used for mixed development, creating a self-sustained ecosystem.
Located around 3 km from Infocity and 23 km from Infovalley, the proposed park at Damana Square is expected to emerge as a high-potential technology corridor. The developer to be finalised will be responsible for designing and developing the project as a future-ready technology hub, with modern office towers, incubation and co-working spaces, retail and hospitality facilities, and service apartments.
The project will be supported by a strong infrastructure base, featuring high-speed digital connectivity, green landscaping and sustainable utility systems, while aiming to attract investment, encourage innovation, promote startups and generate significant employment.
