Odisha Sees 134 COVID Deaths In October, 103-Yr- Old Of Bhubaneswar Succumbs

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,333 on Sunday with four more deaths due to the deadly disease being confirmed in the last 24 hours.

With these fatalities, Odisha saw 134 COVID deaths in October.

According to the Health Department sources, the death of a 31-year-old man of Bhubaneswar with no comorbidities was confirmed in the last 24 hours. Likewise, a 103-year-old woman of Bhubaneswar also succumbed to the disease.

Here are the details of the deceased after an audit:

1.A 31 years old male of Bhubaneswar.

2.A 103 years old female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypertension, Acute Kidney Infection.

3.A 75 years old female of Mayurbhanja district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

4.A 56 years old male of Puri district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Crohn’s Disease, Pleural Effusion.

Notably, Odisha has reported 6,448 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 in the first wave last year.

There were 346 casualties due to the disease in the state in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.

The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 43 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
