Bhubaneswar: The written examination for Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment under CPSE-2024 scheduled for October 5 and 6 has been postponed, the Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB) said in a release on Tuesday.
“In view of some unforeseen development, the Board decided to postpone the Written Examination CPSE-2024, which was earlier scheduled to be held on 05.10.2025 & 06.10.2025. Fresh date will be announced later,” it read.
The postponement came hours after Berhampur police intercepted three buses near Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh last night and detained 120 candidates, who were allegedly being taken to Hyderabad for ‘special coaching’ arranged by the private agency conducting the recruitment test, jeopardising the entire examination process.
All detained candidates are currently being interrogated at Berhampur, sources said.
The Crime Branch has also been directed to conduct a probe into the matter and identify those involved in the racket.
