Bhubaneswar: The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has nominated ace woman sprinter from Odisha, Anuradha Biswal as a member of the Talent Identification Committee for the East Zone (Athletics) of the Khelo India Identification Programme, an initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The committee will identify grassroot talent by using appropriate methods and non-competitions and ensure the updation of the database on the National Sports Repository System (NSRS) as well as create the ranking of the athletes.
The 46-year-old athlete holds the current national record of 13.38 seconds for 100-metre hurdles during the DDA-Raja Bhalendra Singh National Circuit meet held at the Nehru Stadium in Delhi in August 2002.
She had also won a bronze medal in the Asian championships in Jakarta in July 2000 and a gold in the South Asian Games in Colombo in 2006.
Anuradha is presently working with NALCO in Bhubaneswar.
