Odisha: State Handicrafts Awards To Be Presented At Toshali National Crafts Mela On Feb 1

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will present State Handicrafts Awards for 2020 and 2021 to the awardees in the inaugural ceremony of 17th Toshali National Crafts Mela in Bhubaneswar on February 1.

According to a release of Directorate of Handicrafts, the Life Time Achievement Award for 2019 would be presented to Sudarshan Sahoo for stone carving, Benudhar Mohapatara for 2020 for Pattachitra and palm leaf engraving and Debendra Mishra for 2021 for stone carving.

The State Handicraft Award for 2020 would be conferred on Udaya Mohanty for stone carving, Nirmala Chandra Das for palm leaf engraving, and Purna Chandra Mohapatra for Pattachitra.

The Kalakruti Award 2020 would be presented to Prafulla Kumar Moharana for wood carving, Suresh Chandra Mohapatra for applique, Naliniknta Ojha for wood carving and Kuni Patra for strw craft.

The State Handicraft Award 2021 (Category A) would be presented to Babita Pradhan for Pattachitra, Promod Kumar Moharana for palm leaf engraving, and Pramod Kumar Moharana for stone carving.

The State Handicraft Award 2021 (Category B) would be presented to Pravati Rao for lacquer craft, Amiya Podar for coir craft and Urbasi Moharana for clay toys.

The Kalakruti Award 2021 (Category A) would be conferred on Rasmita Sahoo for Pattachitra and Ananta Moharana for stone carving while Kalakruti Award 2021 (Category B) would be presented to Kanaklata Das for lacquer craft and Sarojini Das for cane and bamboo craft.
