Odisha Students To Get Digital Matric Certificates Within 7 Days Of Declaration Of Results

Cuttack: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Odisha on Saturday announced that the candidates, who have appeared for the Matriculation examinations this year, will get digital certificates within 7 days of declaration of the results.

Speaking to media persons on Saturday, BSE president Srikant Tarai said the Board would issue digital certificates to the students for the first time this year. The students can download the certificates from the official website within 7 days of the declaration of results, he added.

Similarly, the candidates can get hard copies of certificates from their schools within 15 days instead of the present practice of one month.

Stating that the results of the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations 2024 will be declared on time, Tarai said the process for evaluation of answer sheets has been started from March 14. All necessary measures have been taken to complete the evaluation be the scheduled time of March 28 so that the results can be declared in time, he added.

The evaluation of answer copies is likely to start at 55 centres across the state from Sunday. Around 16,235 teachers will be engaged in the evaluation under the supervision of senior BSE officials.

Though the Board will face difficulty in the evaluation work due to engagement of teachers in the general elections, BSE vice-president Nihar Mohanty said they will stick to the scheduled time. The evaluation will not be stopped for lack of teachers, he added.

It may be noted that more than 5.62 lakh students appeared for the Matriculation examination this year. The BSE conducted the examination across the state from February 20 to March 4.
