Bhubaneswar: Odisha is set to host the first edition of ‘ODISHA TEX 2025’, billed as the largest textile investment event in Eastern India, on July 25 in Bhubaneswar.
To be inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the event aims to position the state as a leading hub for textiles, apparel, and technical textiles in the country. It is expected to draw top textile companies, global brands, manufacturers, startups, and young professionals under one roof, offering them a platform to explore investment prospects in apparel, footwear, accessories, technical textiles, and luggage manufacturing.
The event is expected to witness the signing of major Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and significant investment announcements by leading players in the textile sector. These developments are projected to significantly boost Odisha’s industrial landscape and aid in the state’s ambition to emerge as the ‘Textile Capital of India’ by 2030.
Highlighting the importance of the event, Hemant Sharma, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department, said, “This platform will bring leading textile players to Odisha and generate significant employment opportunities for our youth. With progressive policies, world-class infrastructure, and a skilled workforce, we are building a robust ecosystem where textiles can become a powerful driver of industrial growth, women’s empowerment, and rural transformation.”
Over 300 delegates from prominent textile centres like Tirupur, Bengaluru, Surat, the National Capital Region (NCR), Punjab, and West Bengal are expected to participate in the event. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is the official industry partner for the event and is working closely with sectoral associations in fibre, textiles, apparel, hosiery, and wearables to ensure broad-based industry participation.
As part of its long-term textile strategy, the state government is also set to unveil six new textile parks with state-of-the-art facilities for apparel and wearable manufacturing. These parks will be launched during the event, underscoring Odisha’s growing focus on infrastructure-driven industrial growth in the textile sector.
