Bhubaneswar: After adopting it in higher education, the Odisha government is now gearing up to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) in schools across the state by 2025.
Sharing this information on Wednesday, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond said that a series of initiatives are being taken to ensure the smooth adoption of the policy in all schools.
A special task force committee has been formed to oversee the process, while six sub-committees have also been constituted to provide specific recommendations.
After getting the opinions from the sub-committees, the special taskforce committee will take the final call and forward it to the government to implement the NEP, he said, adding that the government will formally implement the NEP after examining the inputs and suggestions from all stakeholders.
Regarding shortage of teachers, the Minister said the government is taking concrete measures to fill the vacancies. Efforts are being made to address all essential requirements in the education sector to improve overall quality, he said.
The government is committed to meeting all the requirements for education reform and ensuring that the NEP is successfully integrated into the school system, the Minister said.
