Bhubaneswar: With double-engine government in place, Odisha would emerge a developed state by 2036, said Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday.

Speaking to media persons in Bhubaneswar, Majhi said this was the right time for the state to move on fast track to growth. “With Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeping Odisha in focus, the state will play an integral part in developed India,” he said.

The chief minister said his government was mobilising all resources to get investment for industrial growth in the state. “Our high-level teams conducted roadshows in New Delhi and Mumbai to attract the investors. Several industrial houses have evinced interest to open shops in future,” he added.

Stating that the government had signed 8 MoUs with Singapore government, he said those would attract investment in various sectors including urban planning, port management, logistics, green energy and skill development. Around Rs 5,000 crore investment was expected in the state, he claimed.

He further said the talks with visiting Singapore president was fruitful, Majhi said a green hydrogen plant would be set up at Paradip. With the investors showing interest in Odisha as the country’s new destination, it would find place in top 5 states soon, he added.
