Bhubaneswar: Despite the subdued monsoon, Odisha will receive more rainfall in the next 12 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a mid-day bulletin on Wednesday.
“Although the cyclonic circulation lies over Bihar and adjoining East Uttar Pradesh will have no effect on Odisha, a northsouth trough running from cyclonic circulation over Bihar to north coastal Andhra Pradesh across Jharkhand and interior Odisha will trigger heavy rainfall in some parts of the north and south Odisha districts,” it said.
Apart from this, there will be thunderstorms with lightning at one or two places at all places in the state except in western Odisha, the bulletin said, adding that the rainfall activity will continue for the next five days till August 15.
