Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is all set to implement a revised syllabus for school students in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Announcing this on Saturday, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond said that the new syllabus will be introduced for students from Class 1 to 8. The move aligns the syllabus with the NEP 2020.
He said the new syllabus will be introduced in the 2026-27 academic session.
The new syllabus will place greater emphasis on language, culture, and heritage to promote a deeper understanding of regional traditions and identity.

Noting that there is a slight variation in rules, the Minister assured that the state’s decision aligns with its educational framework. This development marks a significant step in modernising the education system while preserving the rich cultural heritage of the state.
