Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Friday arrested accountant-cum-data entry operator (ADEO) of Batasana gram panchayat in Koraput’s Kotpad block, S Partha Sarathi Bisoi, for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
This followed a simultaneous searches at properties linked to him the previous day.
The Vigilance sleuths had unearthed three buildings, 16 plots and a cashew processing unit during the raids at seven places in Koraput district on Thursday. These apart, two concrete mixture machines, as many paddy thrasher, three tractors, a water tanker, gold weighing 285 grams, 2.45 lakh in cash and an SUV were seized.
Bisoi was arrested as he could not satisfactorily explain the source of these assets, an official release said.
Assets detected in names of Bhoi and his family members are as follows:
1. A triple-storey building over 4500 sqft area at Pailo Sahi, Boriguma, Koraput district.
2. One building over 2400 sqft area at Champia village, Boriguma, Koraput district.
3. Another building located in the same village
4. A cashewnut processing unit, Sai Krishna Enterprises, spread over 8561 sqft area at Champia, Boriguma, Koraput district.
5. 16 plots in Champia, Boriguma & Gandhi Nagar, Nabarangpur.
6. Rs 2,45,000 in cash
7. Gold jewellery weighing 285 grams and silver ornaments of 706 grams.
8. 2 concrete mixture machines, 2 paddy thrashers, 3 tractors, one water tanker, a 4-wheeler (Bolero) and 3 two-wheelers.
