Odisha Vigilance Nabs Official While Taking Bribe From Schoolteacher
Bhubaneswar: A senior assistant at the office of Mathili Block Education Officer (BEO) in Malkangiri district was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while allegedly accepting Rs 5,000 bribe from a schoolteacher.
The accused, identified as Rabi Shankar Patra, was caught while allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 at the BEO office from the teacher of a primary school to process/finalise his enquiry file in connection with proceedings drawn against him.
The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered and seized from the possession of Patra, an official release said.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Patra from DA angle.
In this connection, a case has been registered and investigation is in progress.
