Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday unearthed 3 multi-storey buildings, a farmhouse and 9 high-value plots during raids on properties linked to Susanta Kumar Sethy, Junior Engineer (JE), Roads and Buildings Division (R&B), Khariar in Nuapada district.
Bank & Insurance deposits, amounting to Rs 50 lakh, has so been detected.
A Vigilance statement said that the raids are in progress at eight places, including Bhubaneswar, Pipili, and Nuapada, following allegations of acquisition of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The searches are being carried out by special teams led by seven DSP rank officers, three inspectors, 10 assistant sub-inspectors, and other supporting staff. The raids are being conducted following warrants issued by Special Vigilance Judge, Bhubaneswar.
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Sethy and his family members;
1. One triple-storey building with area approx. 6500 sqft located at plot No.10, Gangotri Nagar, Lingipur, Bhubaneswar.
2. One under construction building with area approx. 1500 sqft. over plot No.10/3920 at Gangotri Nagar, Lingipur, Bhubaneswar.
3. One farmhouse spread over 1 acre located over plot No.749, Bilipada, Pipili, Dist-Puri.
4. 9 high-value plots, including 3 in Bhubaneswar, 5 in Puri’s Pipili and 1 in Rayagada town.
6. 1 four-wheeler (KIA Carens) and 5 two-wheelers.
7. One benami four-wheeler car which is under verification.
Measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings/ farmhouse/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing, it added.
