Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Saturday unearthed three multi-storey buildings, Rs 6.50 lakh in cash and a four wheeler during raids on Block Education Officer (BEO), Chhatrapur, Sita Ram Patro on allegation of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to a Vigilance release, simultaneous house searches are being conducted by teams led by 5 DSPs, 4 inspectors, 5 SI/AsIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur, at six places in Ganjam district.
Raids are currently on at these places:
1. Double-storey residential building at Ramakrushna Nagar, 7th Lane, near Khodasingh, Berhampur.
2. Flat No.304 at Saradhabali, 1st Lane Bijay Tower-2, Khordasingh, Berhampur.
3. Double-storey building at Kolisahi, Polasara, Ganjam.
4. Another building at Kolisahi, Polasara, Ganjam.
5. House of his relative at Kalinganagar, Berhampur.
6. Office of BEO, Chhatrapur, Ganjam.
Assets unearthed in the name of Patro and his family members are as follows:
1. A double-storey residential building over 3500 sqft area at Ramakrushna Nagar, 7th Lane, near Khodasingh, Berhampur.
2. A double-storey building over 1600 sqft area at Kolisahi, Polasara, Ganjam.
3. Another building at Kolisahi, Polasara, Ganjam.
4. Rs 6.50 lakh in cash
5. One four-wheeler & 2 two-wheelers.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing. Bank, insurance and postal deposits and other investments are also being ascertained, it added.
