Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday unearthed a triple-storey building, a market complex with 20 shops worth over Rs 1 crore and six high-value plots during raids on a junior assistant posted at the office of District Education Officer (DEO), Balasore, Pradeep Kumar Das on the allegation of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to a Vigilance release, the simultaneous house searches are being conducted by team led by 2 Additional SPs, 4 DSPs, 7 inspectors, 5 ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore, at six places in Balasore district.
Raids are on at the following places:
1. His triple-storey residential building located at Angargadia, Balasore.
2. Paternal house at Bhuinpada, Khantapada, Balasore.
3. Market complex at Madhagada, Sergarh, Balasore.
4. House of his relative at Kahalia, Nilgiri, Balasore.
5. House of his another relative at Bhuinpada, Khantapada, Balasore.
6. Office Room at Collectorate Campus, Balasore.
Assets unearthed during the simultaneous searches include:
1) A triple-storey building over 3700 sqft area at Angargadia, Balasore town.
2) A two-storey market complex with 20 shops worth over Rs 1 crore in a 4000 sqft area at Sergarh Bazar, Balasore.
3) Six high-value home stead plots in and around Balasore town.
4) Two two-wheelers
The measurement and valuation/assessment of thebuilding/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing. Bank, insurance & postal deposits and other investments are also being ascertained, it added.
