Bhubaneswar: The visit of Congress president Rahul Gandhi to Odisha has been rescheduled, said Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik here on Tuesday.
Briefing mediapersons at the Congress Bhawan here, Niranjan said the Congress president was scheduled to address two public meetings at Jeypore in Koraput district and later in Bargarh town on March 8. However, there has been a minor change in his tour schedule.
“According to the revised schedule, Rahul will visit Jeypore on March 8. Since the plane in which he will travel cannot land at the airstrip in Jeypore, it will either land at Visakhapatnam or at Jagdalpur. After landing at one of these places, Rahul will leave for Jeypore by road,” he said.
The OPCC president said the party supremo will address the farmers, women and later a public meeting in Jeypore.
“The Congress president will again visit the state and address a public meeting in Bargarh town on March 13,” Niranjan pointed out.
This would be Rahul’s third visit to Odisha this year. The Congress chief was in Bhubaneswar on January 25 and then travelled to western Odisha on February 6, where he addressed public meetings at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district and Rourkela in Sundargarh district.
