Bhubaneswar: Odisha wants Naveen Patnaik to take rest as the state needs a healthy and active Chief Minister, BJP national president J P Nadda said during a roadshow in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

“The people have made up their mind to bring a change and to bless the BJP…As far as the Assembly elections are concerned, the people of Odisha have decided to allow Naveen Babu to take rest and free the state from the bureaucratic stranglehold. The BJP will win a majority in the state elections. Odisha wants a young and dynamic CM who can serve the people of the state and improve their lives,” he told reporters.

The BJP will form a double-engine government in Odisha this time, he said, adding that the party will also win all 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state as people want to see Prime Minister Narendra Modi hold office for third term.

The BJP chief said that the BJD has missed the bus and the results will be in favour of the BJP. “The party had decided its CM candidates for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan within three days. Similarly, the CM candidate for Odisha will also be decided. The people will Odisha will vote for BJP which is contesting under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Nodi,” he said responding to queries on BJP’s CM face for Odisha.

In the roadshow from Mausima temple to Lingaraj temple, he was accompanied by  Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha candidate Aparajita Sarangi and Bhubaneswar-Ekamra Assembly constituency candidate Babu Singh.
