Sources said that Sujata Bhuyan was defrauded Rs 48,000 by the cyber fraudsters when she was trying to buy the injection online for her under-treatment husband Ajay Bhuyan. The husband is admitted at the All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar.

The patient from Jagatsinghpur had an urgent need for the injection that was not available at the hospital. Later, a nurse shared a website link from where the injection could be procured.

Sujata surfed the website and contacted the seller. But despite making the full payment, Sujata was never delivered the drug. So much so that the fraudsters even switched off the mobile phones and went untraceable.

“I have been tricked by the fraudsters while trying to order the medicine online. I paid Rs 48,000 but did not get the injection,” the woman said.
