Bhanjanagar: A youth allegedly attempted suicide by slitting throat here after his wedding was called off.
According to sources, he attempted suicide on a a busy street near the bus stand. Locals alerted police, which immediately reached the spot and admitted him to Bhanjanagar Hospital.
In his statement to police, the youth said that he was a native of Guptapalli village in Jagannath Prasad area. He wanted to kill himself after the family of the girl with whom his marriage was fixed, called it off, the sources added.
