New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised a young man from Odisha’s Kendrapada, Om Prakash Rath, during his popular monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday.
The recognition came after Rath participated in the central government’s ‘My Bharat Budget Quest’ competition. Out of nearly 12 lakh youth who took part in the nationwide contest, his insightful essay on ‘Women-led Development’ impressed the Prime Minister.
“Recently, MY Bharat organised a budget quest. Its aim was to connect the youth across the country with the budget process and policymaking. Nearly 12 lakh youth from across the country participated in the quiz, following which 160,000 participants were selected for the essay competition. I had the opportunity to go through some of these essays. They demonstrate the eagerness of my young friends to contribute to the country’s development. …and Om Prakash Rath from Kendrapada, Odisha, expressed their views on ways to advance women-led development… This reveals their deep thinking,” the PM remarked.
