Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha crossed 300-mark for the second time this year on Thursday with 377 new infections being detected from 6,761 samples in the last 24 hours, according to the state health department.
The test positivity rate stood at 5.57 per cent, while active cases climbed to 1,975 with 202 more recoveries. The state has reported 3 deaths due to the virus this year.
On April 16, Odisha had seen 308 new cases with a TPR of 5.19 per. The daily caseload had hovered around 250 thereafter.
India also reported a hike with 10,542 new infections, six days after a nationwide falling trend in COVID cases.
The country had seen a declining graph from April 14 to April 18 when 11,109 and 7,633 cases were reported respectively. India had recorded 9,111 on April 17, 10,093 on April 16, and 10,753 on April 15.
Odisha is among 10 states contributing to the COVID caseload.
