Odisha’s Pahala Rasagola To Cost More From Today; Check The Revised Prices

Bhubaneswar: The sweet-toothed have to loosen their purse strings with traders reopening Pahala sweet hub of the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack along NH-16 on Tuesday with revised prices.

The price rise has been attributed to increase in the cost of milk and cheese prices and also that of other ingredients like sugar, cardamom, rawa and fuel. The price of chhena used for preparing the sweets has gone up by Rs 20 a kg due to a Rs 4 per litre hike in the price of milk, according to  Pahala Sweet Trader’s Association, whose members had closed shops for 3 days seeking the hike.

REVISED PRICES

Rasagola priced at Rs 5 will now cost Rs 6 a piece, those at Rs 10 and Rs 20 a piece will be sold for Rs 12 and Rs 25 respectively.

Chhenapoda will cost Rs 20 more per kg. Chhenagaja and Chhenapoda will be sold at Rs 220 to Rs 280 a kg respectively

There are around 100 sweet-makers at Pahala market who prepare around 30 to 40 quintals of different types of sweets.
