Odisha’s Pipli Applique Finds Pride Of Place On Bollywood Film Sui Dhaaga’s Logo
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Pipli applique work is part of the logo of the yet to be released Bollywood film, ‘Sui Dhaaga’. It features Odisha’s distinct Chandua art. The logo of the movie was released to coincide with The National Handloom Day on August 7.
This is the first time that a film’s logo has been made by artisans from all over the country. The film’s team reached out to local artisans and craftsmen from across the length and breadth of the country to create the logo in their unique stitching styles.
In a special video, the lead pair, Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma reveal that the film’s team sent a stencil to several artists in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and to several other states and cities and the artists in return sent back their respective logos made intricately using their specific location’s artistry and fabrics.
This one’s for all those artisans who put their heart and soul into their art. This one’s #SuiDhaagaMadeInIndia. Presenting the #SuiDhaagaLogo@yrf #SharatKatariya #ManeeshSharmahttps://t.co/aM9lCggJSn
